Inventory surveys provide the required basic data for planning of construction and installation projects and also the creation of facility management systems (FM) and documentation and information systems. A further significant function of the inventory surveys is recording of the current state, for the purpose of conservation.
In its broadest sense, this includes all types of surveys and measurements to capture and document a status quo (natural inventory).
