G10 Epoxy Resin

G-10 (Glass Cloth / Epoxy Resin) is a glass-epoxy laminate specified for its extremely high strength and high dimensional stability over temperature. G-10 is commonly used for terminal boards, applications in high humidity, electrical and electronic test equipment, and electric rotor insulation. Due to its composition, G-10 is difficult to cut or machine and may require special equipment. While G-10 is slightly stronger, G-11 offers better insulation properties and can withstand higher temperatures.

Usability

Epoxy Resin G10

G-10 is a laminated material made from glass cloth and epoxy resin, designed to provide extremely high mechanical strength and good dimensional stability across a range of temperatures. It is ideal for applications that require impact resistance and dimensional stability.

Key Properties of G-10:

  • High Strength: With its glass cloth and epoxy resin composition, G-10 is a durable material that can withstand high-pressure applications.

  • Dimensional Stability: G-10 maintains excellent dimensional stability in varying temperature conditions, making it suitable for use in environments where temperature fluctuations occur.

  • Moisture Resistance: It is suitable for high-humidity applications, such as terminal boards and electrical test equipment.

  • Good Electrical Insulation: G-10 is used in applications requiring electrical insulation properties, such as in electronic devices and electric rotor insulation.

Applications of G-10:

  • Terminal Boards: Ideal for applications that require stability in moisture resistance and strength in electrical tasks.

  • Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment: G-10 is utilized as a corrosion-resistant electrical insulation material in changing environmental conditions.

  • Electric Rotor Insulation: It is used to prevent current leakage in machinery and electrical systems.

Differences Between G-10 and G-11:

G-10 offers greater strength, whereas G-11 provides superior electrical insulation properties and can withstand higher temperatures. Thus, G-11 is more suitable for applications requiring enhanced electrical protection in high-temperature environments.
